Komiya Shoten will be selling a limited number of rain and sun umbrellas, created in collaboration with Sugata Katachi, the world's only wooden door handle manufacturer, on the B1F of Hankyu Men's Tokyo from Friday, February 7th.
The two surprising commonalities between an umbrella handle (hand part) and a door handle, both of which are the act of "grip," are connected by an invisible line that represents a "passion for manufacturing." This time, we asked them to redesign it into an "umbrella handle" based on a door handle.
The shape has been adjusted to ensure stability even when standing upright, and it has been designed to fit comfortably in the hand even if the grip is different for each user, resulting in a beautiful harmony between everyday functionality and organic design.

The umbrella handle was handmade with a forest-like image in mind, inspired by the forest design of the umbrella fabric.
The shape resembles a leaf or the antlers of a reindeer running through the forest, giving the design a deep forest landscape.
